Purple Prowess

Ok so if I’m being honest, I didn’t think Butterick Pattern 6241 was the most flattering dress at first glance. But I did like the deep pockets and zipper detail. I figured with a little adjusting I could create something great, so I drew out a sketch and I got to work.

I used jersey knit fabric for the dress and for the contrast detail I added to the sides. You can find some here at Fabric.com. The pattern called for a sport zipper which I freakin’ love! The fact that it is front and center makes it a huge plus in my book.

Overall I really loved using this pattern, it was fairly easy to follow along and I finished pretty quickly. I haven’t made a lot of designs using Butterick patterns but with the creations I’ve made here recently, I definitely plan to change that.
